The ideal candidate must have expertise in 2D and 3D harness design, with proficiency in Zuken, AutoCAD Electrical, Vesys, and SolidWorks Electrical (or NX). A strong understanding of J1939 protocols, DTD software, and automotive electrical standards is required. Basic knowledge of PLC (Ladder Logic) or Visual-Based Programming is a plus. This role is remote, with occasional travel for meetings, testing, and project requirements.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop 2D and 3D electrical harnesses for heavy-duty vehicles (trucks, buses, mining equipment).Utilize Zuken, AutoCAD Electrical, and Vesys for harness schematic design and documentation.Create 3D harness routing and clipping layouts using SolidWorks Electrical (or NX), ensuring best design practices.Implement J1939 protocols for CAN-based vehicle communication.Work with DTD software for harness architecture, validation, and design optimization.Develop and maintain wiring diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings following industry standards.Provide technical support for production teams, including build and wiring instructions.Assist in prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical harnesses.Work with automotive electrical systems, vehicle electronics architecture, and high-power wiring solutions.Utilize Microsoft Teams and Office Suite for communication, collaboration, and documentation.Maintain effective project planning, timekeeping, and forecasting.Develop test instructions and validation procedures for vehicle electrical systems.Work with PLC (Ladder Logic) or Visual-Based Programming (a plus).Occasionally travel for on-site meetings, testing, and production support.Requirements:B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.3 to 5 years of experience in automotive electrical harness design.Proficiency in Zuken, AutoCAD Electrical, and Vesys for 2D harness design.Experience with SolidWorks Electrical (or NX) for 3D harness modeling and routing.Strong knowledge of J1939 communication protocols and CAN networks.Solid understanding of vehicle electronics architecture and electrical design best practices.Experience with harness manufacturing, production support, and validation.Ability to develop build instructions, test plans, and troubleshooting procedures.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work remotely with flexibility for occasional travel.Hands-on experience with electrical architecture, power distribution and routing, wire gauge selection and fuse selection.Available to start by April 21st, 2025.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with high-voltage electrical systems in heavy-duty vehicles.M.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent preferred.Familiarity with CAN-based vehicle communication and environmental considerations for rugged applications.Understanding of harness manufacturing processes and validation techniques.Hands-on experience with automotive software programming or PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Visual-Based Programming).
