Job Title: Global Spares Planning Manager Location: Coimbatore As the Global Spares Planning Manager , you will be responsible for leading the global planning and fulfillment strategy for spare parts across our depot and customer locations. You will manage a team of planners and work cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, sourcing, finance, and service teams to ensure optimal spares availability, inventory control, and on-time customer delivery. This role combines demand planning, supply planning, and team leadership . The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills to support both legacy and NPI (New Product Introduction) products. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of planners responsible for global and regional depot operations. Define team KPIs and drive performance through structured reviews and continuous improvement. Foster a collaborative, proactive, and high-performing team culture. Demand planning & order fulfillment: Maintain kit/Spares BOM for the legacy and NPI products in the install base Maintain safety stock levels, reorder levels & Economic order quantity in ERP for Global & Regional depot locations Generate / Manage demand based on the Sales orders / replenishment modes. Manages order backlog after order entry ensuring that orders flow through the order fulfillment cycle Manages inventory and RMA (for the Core BU). Manages open POs and suppliers by commodity / tool / customer for multiple depot locations Validates order configuration Maintains and communicates order delivery dates Plans Production parts in accordance with manufacturing production requirements Works to drive on-time delivery to the customer Partners with other functions (Manufacturing, Engineering & Finance) to resolve/escalate any issues preventing on-time order fulfillment Partners with finance to monitor accurate revenue recognition on assigned orders. Supply planning and materials replenishment: Executes planning process, creates purchase orders and communicates with suppliers. Reviews (daily) and resolves material shortages / safety stock levels Reviews (daily) open purchase orders, expedites past due orders, and obtains supplier promise dates Ensures materials are available on-time while simultaneously minimizing inventory Maintains accuracy of planning parameters and safety stocks in multiple spares depot Drives improvement in supplier on-time delivery Interacts with key suppliers and writes contracts for minimum order quantity or any other material requirements Desired Characteristics: Able to perform duties with minimal supervision. Self-starter, highly motivated, resourceful, creative, results-oriented, and decisive Able to lead a project cross-functionally, beginning to end, to achieve objectives. Comfortable with significant autonomy (will have authority to represent and make commitments internally on behalf of the Materials group) Understands product life cycles -- from concept and design through production, service, sales, and execution -- and their impact on planning and procurement. Flexible and resourceful Requirements: Four-year degree and 10 to 12 years prior work experience in supply chain planning/spares planning. Experience with managing a team of buyers & Planners and constantly mentoring them to deliver critical to business solutions. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel, proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft Word PLM hands-on usage experience preferred. ERP & MRP tools experience; experience using pc/MRP highly desirable. Understanding of Six Sigma Lean manufacturing, JIT, Kanban, VMI.
