.Job Description – CTO / VP Engineering (Ecommerce Startup – D2C Marketplace) Location: Delhi CTC: Up to ₹1 Crore Role Overview: We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) / VP Engineering to lead the technology vision and execution for our D2C Ecommerce Marketplace . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building and scaling marketplace platforms , integrating cutting-edge technologies , and ensuring seamless customer experiences . As the technology leader, you will be responsible for defining the product architecture, tech stack, scalability strategy, and engineering processes while working closely with business and product teams. Key Responsibilities: 1. Technology Strategy & Architecture Define and execute the technology roadmap for a scalable and high-performance D2C ecommerce marketplace . Architect and implement a robust, scalable, and secure platform , ensuring high availability and fast transactions. Select and optimize the tech stack (cloud infrastructure, databases, backend, frontend, AI/ML, etc.). Drive adoption of microservices, headless commerce, and API-first architecture . 2. Product Development & Innovation Lead the end-to-end development of the marketplace , including catalog management, search & discovery, checkout, and payment systems. Implement AI/ML-driven personalization, recommendation engines, and fraud detection . Ensure seamless integrations with logistics, payments, ERP, and third-party vendors . Drive the adoption of progressive web apps (PWA), mobile-first design, and omnichannel commerce . 3. Engineering Leadership & Team Building Hire, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team (developers, architects, DevOps, QA). Define and implement agile development processes (Scrum, CI/CD, DevOps best practices) . Foster a culture of innovation, speed, and engineering excellence .. Key Requirements: Experience & Qualification 12+ years of experience in technology leadership roles within D2C Ecommerce, Marketplaces, or Online Retail . Proven track record of building and scaling ecommerce platforms from scratch. Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) , microservices architecture, and DevOps. Expertise in backend technologies (Node.js, Python, Java, or Go) and frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js, Angular) .
