Job Title: Category Manager - IT, Mobile, PC, Apparels, Home Furnishing Job Location: Lagos, NigeriaYear of Experience: Minimum 8 years and (3 plus years as Category Manager)Roles and Responsibilities:Strategy & Planningü Develop and execute detailed buying plan based on category business plan at the subcategory and the branch level on a monthly basis.ü Develop and execute category objectives to meet the category strategiesü Execute business & Promo plan for category in line with overall organization strategy keeping brands, vendors, branches, customer, space planning and budgeting in mind.ü Based on available space in each outlet, efficiently optimize the space utilization to generate maximum Return on Space and return on investment.ü Ensure category contribution in the overall SPAR business is maintained Inventoryü Execute detailed buying plan based on category business plan at the subcategory and the branch level on a weekly basis.ü Execute category range planning (CATMAN) based on location and demography of the storeü Ensure constant availability of the Identified range of products in line with store format strategy & market demand at store levelü Identify and introduce new products for introduction to improve on range planning, margins within the store format, market demand and product availabilityü Conduct Inventory management and inventory ageing analysis on agreed intervalsü Ensure timely stock replenishment in all outlets based on CATMAN, POG & Sales rateü Liaise with Warehousing team to monitor the SOH & transit time to all storesSales & Profitü Deliver annual margins as per business planü Deliver Backend Marginsü Deliver annual sales target as per business plan for respective categoriesü Plan and execute Consumer Activation & Promotion Programs to drive sales in conjunction with marketing and operations teamü Regular store visits to understand consumer behavior and to conduct store auditü Drive pricing strategies to be a market leader through market surveysü Execute the loss prevention strategy in order to ensure that planned margins are achieved.ü Execute the private label strategy so as to drive additional margins in the various concepts.ü Closely monitor the over stock holding for responsible concept and ensure that timely action is taken to minimize stock ageing.ü Thoroughly analyze all data in the category to know category performance vs Plan.New Store Developmentü Execute the required plans in line with any new store developmentü Ensure CATMAN, Planogram is executed in line with agreed store formatVendorü Identify appropriate vendor for each product. Develop TOT for that vendor. Negotiate pricing and ensure minimum lead time and maximum fill ratesü Ensure that vendor payments are done as per agreed timelines Peopleü Identify required skills set for specific category and ensure appropriate training is given to be able to drive their performanceü Efficiently coordinate and communicate category strategy & plan with relevant teams.Ensure that all members are equipped with required ammunition to deliver category mission.ü Develop accountable and result oriented teams for all activities allocated to them with monitoring methods.ü Coordinate with HR on Periodic evaluation of staff as per their KRAs, KPIs and identify areas for improvement and ensure appropriate training is given where required.ü Take preventive and corrective action to ensure that performance is at optimal levels
