About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located in Wiesbaden, Germany with the 102nd Signal Battalion.The initial length of this overseas tour is 36 months with possible extensions up to 5 years.DutiesServe as Information Security Officer Specialist in the Cyber Security Division of the 102nd Signal Battalion under the 2nd Signal Brigade.Focus on information system/cyber security issues within the organization''s area of responsibility.Serve as POC for the information systems/cyber security network analysts in the Cyber Security Division.Provide advice and assistance to the Signal Battalion Commander on cybersecurity matters.Ensure implementation of cybersecurity regulations and policies.Provide expertise in security planning and networks.RequirementsAppointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.Three year trial/probationary period may be required.Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET eligibility with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. The IT classification for this position is IT I. Position is designated as Special Sensitive.Position requires that employee pass screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent periodic drug screening thereafter.Position may require incumbent to travel approximately 10% of the time.All new hires appointed to IA/IT positions must complete all DoD 870.1-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program training and certification requirements within 6 months.Sustainment training is required as needed to keep the IA/IT professional proficient in their job duties. All individuals performing technical functions are required to sign a Privileged-Level Access Agreement and Non-Disclosure Agreement.Must obtain and maintain a no-fee passport and associated visa while assigned to a Federal civilian position in an area requiring a passport and associated visa, if authorized.Required to obtain and maintain a military driver''s license.QualificationsWho May Apply:This position is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work level within the CES Occupational Structure.Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job.
