The postdoctoral position offers a unique opportunity to address critical challenges by providing cutting-edge research in the field of theoretical chemistry/material modelling on fundamental issues of ternary graphite intercalation compounds as well as on the design of new ternary and quaternary graphite intercalation.Your TasksElucidation of the geometric arrangement of solvent molecules and ions in the graphite structure and their influence on ion mobility.Evaluation and assessment of the results when monovalent ions are replaced by divalent ions.Examination of the transferability of the concept of t-GICs to mixed cationic systems.Methods: in particular density functional theory, ab initio molecular dynamics simulations, ML force fields.Supervision of bachelor/master students and doctoral candidates.Summary, presentation and publication of the results in English.Your ProfileCompleted scientific university degree in chemistry or materials science.PhD (or shortly before completion) in theoretical chemistry / quantum chemistry or material modelling.Extensive knowledge in the field of theoretical chemistry / quantum chemistry and material modelling.Experience in the field of modelling energy/battery materials.Experience in the field of modelling solid-state structures and working with Linux systems and mainframe computers.Experience in the field of ab initio molecular dynamics simulations.Very good command of written and spoken English.Very good publication record.Experience in presenting scientific content in English.You demonstrate a high level of commitment, initiative, problem-solving skills and the willingness to familiarize yourself with a wide range of tasks.
