Our comprehensive protection plans ensure safety and security for various environments such as commercial, residential, retail, and healthcare facilities.Role DescriptionAs the Security General Manager, you will serve as the senior operational leader, driving all facets of our business to ensure excellence in service delivery, client satisfaction, and company growth. You will collaborate with department heads, engage directly with key clients, and spearhead strategic initiatives to expand our market presence and continuously improve our offerings.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & GrowthDevelop and execute the companys annual business plan and growth targets.Identify new market opportunities, lead generation channels, and service lines to expand our footprint.Evaluate potential partnerships, acquisitions, and pilot programs to drive revenue diversification.Client Relationship & SolutionsServe as the primary point of escalation for major clients; resolve escalations and maintain high satisfaction.Oversee the preparation and presentation of customized security proposals and bids, ensuring competitive pricing and clear value propositions.Build and nurture long-term relationships with decision-makers, community stakeholders, and industry partners.Operational OversightSupervise all operational departments (Guard Services, Mobile Patrol, Event Security, Training, Compliance).Implement and refine standard operating procedures, service-level agreements, and quality-assurance processes.Coordinate with HR on recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.Policy & ComplianceEstablish and update company-wide policies, ensuring adherence to Alberta security licensing regulations and industry best practices.Lead regular audits, safety inspections, and risk assessments; design corrective-action plans to address any gaps.Ensure all incident reporting, documentation, and follow-up investigations meet corporate and regulatory standards.Financial Management & ReportingPrepare and manage the annual budget, monitor P&L performance, and implement cost-control measures.Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including utilization rates, incident response times, and client retention metrics.Deliver monthly and quarterly reports to senior leadership, highlighting successes, challenges, and strategic recommendations.Team Development & CultureMentor and coach department managers, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.Oversee training programs on client service, emergency response, and technical skillsensure all personnel maintain required certifications.Champion employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and open-door communication.Qualifications & ExperienceProven Leadership: 7+ years of progressive management experience in a security guard environment, with at least 3 years in a senior-leadership role.Business Acumen: Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, P&L management, and strategic planning. Prior experience preparing bids and negotiating large contracts is essential.Client-Centric Mindset: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. Comfortable presenting to executives and managing high-stakes negotiations.Operational Expertise: In-depth knowledge of guard operations, mobile patrol logistics, event security planning, staffing models, and scheduling systems.Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of Alberta and federal security regulations, licensing requirements, and risk-management best practices.Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Security Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced certifications (CPP, PSP) are a plus.Technical & Analytical Skills: Proficiency in Office Suite, CRM/scheduling software, and experience leveraging data to inform decision-making.Other Requirements: Valid Alberta Security Personnel License, drivers license, and reliable transportation.
