Position OverviewCalian is seeking a Life Cycle Management Specialist to support the Life Cycle Management of surface ship sonars and underwater sensors.ResponsibilitiesConducting engineering studies and analysis to provide technical solutions to stated technical/logistic or operational requirements/problems including preparation of Engineering Changes (ECs)Defining standards and criteria related to equipment or systems maintenancePreparing, modifying or updating specifications and drawingsConverting specifications and drawings to current standards or electronic formatsPreparing, modifying or updating Technical Instructions and OrdersEvaluating existing systemsPerforming configuration managementPerforming analysis of maintenance, repair and overhaul dataInvestigating Unsatisfactory Condition Reports (UCRs) and Technical Failure Reports (TFRs)Preparing technical statements of requirement, draft specifications and purchase descriptionsPreparing data for initial provisioning and repair parts scalingReviewing the design, development, manufacture, installation and testing of prototype modificationsPreparing repair procedures, maintenance schedules and technical dataPreparing life-cycle cost estimatesPreparing support cost option analysis for systems and equipmentPlanning, developing, implementing and administrating a data management systemPerforming independent verification and validation services for equipment engineering projectsProviding studies and recommendations on application software development standards, methodologies and tools appropriate for the development and maintenance of related software systemsReviewing Repairable Arising Control sheets (RAC) for technical content and making recommendationsReviewing and updating material/equipment specificationsReviewing disposal certificates, making appropriate recommendations, updating maintenance handbooks, parts list and operating manualsReviewing ILS data deliverables off major crown projectsQualificationsMust currently hold a valid Secret Level II Clearance with the Government of Canada6+ years of experience as a Life Cycle Management Specialist2+ years of experience within the last 7 years in in-service LCMS experience on Electro-Mechanical or hydraulic Handling systems such as winches and/or lifting devices2+ years of experience within the last 7 years in LCMS Repair and Overhaul (R&O) activities2+ years of experience within the last 7 years working with change project teams (Engineering Changes or Major Crown Projects)2+ years of experience within the last 7 years working on maintenance documentation related to military equipment/combat systems.Demonstrated experience on military Naval or Sonar equipment. (i.e. Military Radar or Electronic Warfare Equipment)
