POSITION OVERVIEW As a Managing Consultant, you will drive operational excellence by leveraging your understanding of market labor trends, policy changes impacting service delivery, and values-based, cultured inspired leadership. serves as the primary subject matter expert on ACC service requirements, operational needs, and innovation opportunities to best align operational plans with that of the clinical departments, acute services, and Covenant Health strategic direction. working closely with site operational and medical leaders to ensure quality care and service hours are delivered Key Responsibilities: Medical Staff Scheduling : Develop, coordinate, and monitor Associate Physician assessment schedules in consultation with medical leadership and manager. Lead and manage the daily scheduling process, including coverage gap coordination, backfill arrangements, and resolution of complex coverage issues which may involve strategic discussion with physicians to determine priorities for coverage. Recruitment : Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and performance of all staff including alternate care providers for Covenant''s urban hospitals. supporting new alternative providers through assessment and licensing processes while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, including those of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). Contract Management: Develop service delivery standards for both employee and contracted providers. Oversee, update or terminate contracts as needed. Monitor provider activities and support payments and compensation. Performance Management: Proactively identify performance concerns early through regular observation and interaction with providers, supporting improvement plans, and using feedback and data to maintain high standards of care. Analytics & Report: Work collaboratively across the Medical Affairs portfolio and operations to develop data-driven insights to inform workforce planning, manage complex contract and performance processes, and ensure alignment with organizational policies. Staff Management & Development: Working closely with medical leaders, youll identify staffing needs and develop business cases and training plans. You will support clerical and professional staff to ensure the program is delivering high-quality, reliable, and sustainable after-hours services. You will supervise administrative support staff, offering mentorship, direction, and opportunities for professional growth while fostering a positive team culture. What You Bring to the Table: Education: Baccalaureate with a Health-related focus, Business Administration, or related field (equivalencies may be considered). Experience: Five (5) years progressive experience in healthcare administration with demonstrable expertise in provider management and strategic program oversight. Experience in hospital or healthcare facility operations with knowledge of physician and alternate provider services. Demonstrated experience managing complex service contracts, performance management frameworks, policy development and service improvement initiatives. Skills: High Emotional Intelligence, Strong interpersonal, and critical thinking skills, Effective communication skills, Discretion, Diplomacy and Tact. Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and time management skills. Efficient database management, situational analysis, problem solving, and organizational skills. Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook and internet software application.
