Position Summary: The Lead Production Associate will be responsible for providing leadership to all production associates as it pertains to loading/unloading & packaging of materials to ensure effective & efficient operation of the production processes. They will also work with the team to ensure all aspects of work are done with an eye for safety, quality, & productivity. Job Specific Responsibilities & Duties: Oversee the set up of the Loading and unloading of steel and aluminum material onto conveyorized production line safely and with optimal line density. Assist with minimizing the opportunity for loading & unloading and packaging errors. Oversee the efficiency of the production line. Unload and package materials safely and efficiently as per SOPs requirements, ensuring product is protected from damage. Coordinates loading & unloading and packaging requirements based on production schedule and material specifications. Support the production team in ensuring that processes and procedures are being adhered to Organize available personnel & resources to best meet production line requirements all while ensuring work meets quality standards and established procedures. Assist in providing training to current and new employees on all appropriate production line operating procedures and process to ensure efficiency, safety & quality. Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet production requirements. Verify sufficient racking availability and cleanliness of racking. Prepare racking and loading requirements according to the upcoming production schedule Inform Supervisors of any major production problems or delays that will impact production schedule. Assist in resolving production or employee issues in accordance with company standards. Visually inspect customer product prior to loading for any defects Utilize Manufacturing Execution Software to review and follow production schedule requirements and work instructions, including loading and packaging methods Palletize finish products, load/unload, shrink wrap and stack materials Utilize various packaging tools such as tensioners, saws, and packaging tools Inspect quality of coated product and communicate with Quality department if any visual defects or damages observed. Assist sleeving operators, operational leads and other personnels with day-to-day duties as required. In coordination with Shipping & Logistics department support shipping & receiving functions Motivate production personnel to achieve high performance standards. Participate in daily department meetings. Assist in enforcing proper housekeeping and 5S initiatives in the warehouse. Maintain and enforce a safe work culture; ensure all staff on production lines are properly trained and adheres to the policies and procedures as outlines in companys SOPs and according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards. Performing other tasks within your skill, ability and training as assigned by Management Qualifications & Requirements: High school qualification or equivalent 3+ years of previous Lead hand experience in a production environment (preferred) Excellent organizational and time management skills Computer proficiency Demonstrated leadership skills Ability to carry and lift 50lbs Forklift Certification is considered an asset but not mandatory Ability to meet the physical demands of the jobs including kneeling/standing/lifting for long periods of time Ability to handle machines minor technical challenges Strong time-management, multi-tasking skills and ability to meet deadlines & be a team player Excellent hand-eye coordination, high attention to detail Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment Ability to pick up quickly and follow assigned work instructions You must be legally eligible to work and currently residing in Canada General Responsibilities: Coming to work each day at the required time Always abiding by company policies and procedures Prioritizing safety in your actions and workspace condition Completing work to the best of your ability Advising management when aware of contraventions of Health and Safety What We Offer: Competitive salary based on qualifications & experience.
