We're seeking an Estimator to join our client in the Heavy Civil and Earthworks sector in Edmonton. The company is involved in providing services for oilfield, municipal, and commercial construction clients covering all scopes from site preparation to clearing and reclamation services. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of the company's projects by providing accurate and timely cost estimates that can enable successful project execution and delivery to its clients.What we offerSalary: $80,000 to $100,000Job Type: Full-timeBenefits: Vehicle, 50% employer paid health & dental benefits.Flat structure where you will report directly to the PresidentWhat You'll Do:Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to accurately estimate costs for labor, materials, equipment, and other resources required for civil engineering projects.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive cost estimates that account for all aspects of the project.Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to prepare detailed estimates and proposals.Conduct research to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative materials or methods that could improve project efficiency and profitability.Prepare and present estimates to clients, providing clear explanations of the cost breakdown and any assumptions or factors that may impact the final cost.Monitor project budgets and provide ongoing support to project teams to ensure that actual costs align with estimated costs throughout the duration of the project.Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements that may impact project costs or timelines.What We're Looking For:3+ years of experience in an estimating role within heavy civil and earthworks sector in Alberta.Experience in treating tenders and bidding for projects worth between $1 million to $50 million.Familiarity with projects in northern Alberta is an added advantage.Strong understanding of research methodology, data analysis and estimation metrics.Working knowledge of contract language and legal requirements.Post-secondary diploma in Construction Management, Accounting, or related field.Proficiency with estimating software and technology; experience with the use of ineight software is an added advantage.Strong analytical skills and understanding of construction industry methodologies.Excellent organizational, communication, and multi-tasking abilities.Apply nowwe look forward to meeting you!Since 1951, Drake International continues to be a global leader in flexible and permanent staffing: we help people find the right role at any stage of their careerin Canada, and around the world.We work directly with employers to bring you the best opportunities, with no cost to you.Drake International Inc. welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
