Job Summary Amorepacific Canada is seeking an experienced Demand Planning Specialist to join the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team. This role is responsible for developing and managing shipment and sales forecasts for core, launch, and promotional products, ensuring alignment with business objectives. This position will analyze demand signals, maintain accurate forecast models, and work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Finance. As the lead for demand planning efforts, this position plays a critical role in driving forecast accuracy and supporting overall supply chain efficiency. This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive forecasting and inventory management approach. Principal Accountabilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist in the demand planning process by collaborating with various teams to help ensure accurate forecasting. Involve in developing the demand plan by month and channel for essential products, considering trends, brand strategy, statistical forecasts, sell-through trends, market intelligence, and cannibalization effects. Drive the S&OP process by coordinating with Brand, Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams, ensuring alignment between business strategy and demand planning. Work closely with Sales and Marketing to analyze quantitative and qualitative inputs to the forecast such as historical order and selling date, promotional plans, competitive impacts, new item launches, and cannibalization in the development and delivery of the monthly demand plan Work with the team to manage and analyze retailer/channel OH inventory levels, communicate with retail partner planners and merchants to address issues, and help Sales Managers identify sales opportunities. Challenge the forecast based on analytical data - both quantitative (shipments/consumption) and qualitative (marketing, advertising, promotion) demand signals. Monitor channel performance versus the monthly forecast, identifying any key shifts or trends. Analyze forecast variation/deviation to minimize out-of-stock and prevent the building of excess and obsolete inventory. Validate forecast/supply plan to keep the appropriate stock level in the warehouse as well as at the retailers store level Manage the product catalogue, inclusive of the product life cycle. Analyze and interpret SKU effectiveness and efficiency. Guide and drive SKU rationalization. Develop and manage inventory management process for all discontinuation and advancements Maintain detailed item level base business forecasts in volume and value and proactively anticipate and track risks and opportunities to the forecast Monitor the performance of new launches and animations versus the forecast. Co-host and assist the monthly Demand Planning meetings as part of the Sales and Operations Planning process, coordinating cross-functionally between sales, marketing, finance and operations Coordinate with the team to develop, modify and communicate the short- and long-range demand plan to Supply Planning Identify areas of risk and opportunity to the business plan due to internal/external factors and alert Management. Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to the demand planning process Drive the continuous improvement of the demand planning and inventory management processes and systems. Lead/participate in special projects as needed. Key Experience and Skills Bachelors Degree required, ideally in Supply Chain, Business, or Industrial Engineering. 2~3 years of experience in Demand or Supply Planning, preferably in unit-level forecasting within the consumer industry. Work experience with major retailers (e.g., department stores, Sephora) is preferred. Strong experience with database management, including creating and maintaining tables, databases, and spreadsheets for data analysis. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data modelling) and familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP. Strong analytical skills with sound judgment and root cause analysis ability Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment. Adaptability to changing environments and priorities.
