Job: Space Planner Duration: 6 month contract + extensions or conversion Location: Bolton or Mayfield Road at HWY 50 (not accessible on foot or through public transit) Model: Hybrid - 1-4x per week Rate: 25-32/h depending on relative experience + benefits JOB DESCRIPTION Insight Global is looking for Space Planners to join a top North American home improvement retail corporation for a long-term contract to design, build, and maintain merchandise planograms (POGs). The Space Planner is responsible for ensuring that POGs accurately reflect assortment decisions and are consistent with category strategy, visual merchandising standards and planogram optimization targets. In this role, you will capture and build planograms in JDA according to the merchandising strategy, visual merchandising recommendations, and assortment clusters provided, ensuring that merchandising safety standards are adhered to. You will work directly with cross-functional team members to address any issues related to the POG building process. You will analyze planograms for sales, profitability and inventory productivity, and make recommendations to optimize the planograms bearing in mind trade-offs for customer experience, store maintenance, merchandise strategy, and visual considerations. You will present, discuss alternatives, and make final planogram recommendations to the Space Planning and Merchandising Management teams. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in various special projects that will continue the evolution of this department and contribute to taking this team to the leading edge of Space Planning. Position Responsibilities: - Design and build quality planograms in JDA that optimize space productivity and planogram performance, meet specified merchandising strategy, visual merchandising standards and best practices and satisfy merchandising safety standards - Capture bays as set in the Innovation Center, conduct space diagnostics and analyze planograms based on sales, profitability and inventory productivity. - Analyze planograms and make recommendations to optimize planograms, improve functionality (customer experience as well as store operations) and financial performance. - Review planograms and discuss planogram metrics, and tradeoffs or deviations from initial specifications with Space Planning and Merchandising Management teams. - Translate assortments and strategies into store specific planograms based on actual store bay count, bay dimensions, steel/fixtures and store environment - Prepare assemblies for steel/fixture orders, where applicable - Ensure the accuracy of planograms conducting quality checks against assortment listings and store data - Address deficiencies that arise from pre-walks or execution, in a timely manner and in accordance with defined SLA - Participate in special projects to contribute to the continuous improvement of the team REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE - 2-3 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining planograms, preferably in the retail industry for merchandising. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Proficient in the use of JDA Space Planning Software to build planograms. - Proficient in data manipulation in Excel (i.e., vlookup, xlookup, pivot tables, basic conditional formatting). - Ability to work with a high sense of urgency and strong attention to detail. - Strong communication skills. - Bachelor''s degree or equivalent degree/diploma. NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE - Knowledge of MS Access is an asset.
