Scope of the Position: The HR Generalist will provide consistent employee relations, policy and program support to create an environment where individuals and teams can thrive and deliver high performance. The HR Generalist will build strong relationships with business managers and collaborate with the HR Managers to execute aligned local, regional and corporate human resources programs and initiatives successfully within a location or region. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced environment where they can work autonomously. Responsibilities: Program and Policy Management Act as the first point of contact for all Gescan employees and leaders on HR related policies, programs, and issues. Support supervisors and managers with HR and employee relations and investigations and provides advice and solutions. Maintain HR programs such as performance management, disability management, return to work plans, onboarding, orientation, merit reviews, attendance management, and training and development. Ensure compliance of internal policies and external regulations. Handle employee documentation, ensure data integrity, and maintain records in HR systems and files. Communicate all new hires, status changes and terminations effectively. Conduct exit interviews and prepare reports. Maintain benefits enrollment tool, provide answers to employee questions regarding benefits, annual informational sessions and bi-annual re-enrolment campaign. Oversee disability claims, work directly with employees, management and the Health and Safety team to ensure timely and safe return to work. Recruitment Work with management to assess recruitment needs and determine the best recruiting strategy, ensure proper approvals and process are followed. Screen resumes and provide management with a short list of candidates. Provide support to management in creation of offer letters and coordinating testing and background checks. Work with management and other internal shared services departments on new hire announcements, new hire orientation, and creating individual integration schedules, and probationary reviews. Employee Engagement Participate in initiatives to support employee engagement and retention by supporting actions plans in collaboration with business and/or senior operational leaders. Provide a forum for communication where employees can discuss and air issues/concerns openly. Assist with maintaining HR News, Internal Intranet, and Announcement sections, and HR Spotlight. Reporting & Special Projects: Update tracking sheets and provide bi-monthly reports on metrics. Create and provide HR reports Provide support to the Human Resources Directors as required including special projects and assignments including but not limited to HR related training. Other duties as required.
