Role and Objectives: Reporting to the General Manager of Manufacturing, the Mobile Equipment Manager will manage a growing corporate fleet of mobile equipment across multiple sites and lead the mechanical team that maintains them. This role combines leadership with hands-on technical expertise. You will prioritize repairs based on operational needs, manage warranty claims, ensure preventative maintenance programs are efficient, and the overall effectiveness of the team meets or exceeds industry standards. Responsibilities: Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support a team of experienced Heavy Duty Mechanics. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment focused on high-performance and teamwork. Help team leaders and managers meet production objectives through high uptime on critical mobile assets. Influential stakeholder in the purchasing process Operations: Plan, prioritize and manage mobile repairs and preventative maintenance across multiple sites. Develop work plans and ensure parts are prepped ahead of time to minimize downtime during repairs. Manage warranty claims and ensure proper documentation and processing. Evaluate operating costs per/hour on all assets, rotation of assets and scheduling of asset re-lifes Efficiency & Improvements: Identify areas for process improvements and work with the team to implement more efficient maintenance practices. Actively seek and implement solutions for reducing downtime and improving the lifespan of the fleet. Hands-on Support: Provide hands-on mechanical support as needed, tackling complex repairs and assisting team members when required. Stay involved with day-to-day maintenance to maintain your technical skills and lead by example. Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures. Other duties as requested or required. Requirements: High mechanical aptitude. Red Seal would be considered an asset Experience leading or supervising a mechanical or maintenance team. Strong knowledge of mobile equipment repairs and maintenance best practices. Experience in fleet maintenance management, with a focus on uptime and efficiency. Familiarity with Maximo or similar maintenance management systems (preferred). Ability to prioritize, plan, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role in a maintenance or mechanical team. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role Working Conditions: Traditional shop setting combined with office time Occasional weekend shifts required to meet production or fleet maintenance demands. Compensation Package: Salary: $100,000.00 - 120,000.00 Schedule: 5 days/week Extended health benefits including health, dental, vision, travel, Health Spending Account and RRSP program.
