Opportunity Overview Wittington''s Strategy team supports the development and execution of our strategic agenda, delivering thought leadership and actionable insights to address critical challenges and identify new opportunities across our portfolio. This team also provides strategic support to our investment teams and charitable foundations. Wittington is looking to strengthen and grow its Strategy team with the addition of a Director, Strategy. Reporting to the Managing Director, Strategy, the Director will be responsible for evaluation and analysis of strategic initiatives and investments and executing internal projects across Wittingtons portfolio of assets and charitable foundations. For this position we are looking for someone with strong strategy experience. An ideal candidate would have experience in management consulting or a corporate strategy role, have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, possess executive-level communication abilities, can effectively lead complex projects, and can build relationships with people at varying levels of the organization. As the role also provides the opportunity to support M&A transactions, experience in this area is a benefit. Duties & Responsibilities Act as internal consultant and advisor for various projects across the Wittington portfolio Lead and execute Strategy projects, effectively working with key stakeholders to frame important strategic questions, identify creative, impactful and practical solutions supported by analysis, and lead teams through the execution of these strategies Act as a team leader and manage cross-functional teams, by directing the work of team members and managing a broad set of stakeholders while focusing on effective project delivery within the defined timeframe Communicate succinctly and confidently any analyses and project findings to senior business professionals Interact effectively with external advisors (e.g., consultants, financial advisors, lawyers) Support M&A transactions, with a strategic mindset, through their lifecycle from conceiving the idea, articulating the strategic rationale, and supporting execution through the various phases of the transaction Required Qualifications The successful candidate will have 6-8 years of experience and demonstrated a track record of success in any of the following sectors: strategy consulting, private equity, investment banking, corporate development, or corporate strategy Creative problem-solving skills to tackle complex projects and unstructured problems Excellent communication skills to distill key message for senior audiences (including the C-suite and Boards) and effectively present findings, recommendations and opinions Proven project management abilities to structure work in executable pieces, support complex projects and lead cross-functional teams to effectively deliver across a variety of priorities. Demonstrated ability to ramp up quickly on new topics, and synthesize input from a variety of sources to provide clarity and recommendations for the business Strong business acumen and understanding of finance/accounting topics Ability to build effective relationships across varying levels Relevant university degree(s) (e.g., bachelors, MBA, etc.) Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
