We are currently seeking an EHS Specialist for one of our leading clients in the manufacturing industry. Location: Greater Toronto Area, ON Responsibilities: Administer Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs and environmental initiatives to ensure compliance. Conduct thorough audits for ISO 14001, 18000, and IATF 16949 safety standards. Chair Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and oversee investigations. Develop and implement effective training programs on safety protocols. Review and update policies to align with current legislation and best practices. Investigate workplace accidents and prepare comprehensive reports for management and regulatory bodies. Interact with local governmental authorities and maintain positive relationships. Manage hazardous waste disposal and storage following regulations. Conduct industrial hygiene assessments and Personal Protective Equipment evaluations. Schedule and support HSE sampling and testing, including air, water, and noise surveys. Ensure compliance with WHIMS requirements and update the SDS database. Maintain effective housekeeping practices and uphold safety regulations at all times. Qualification: Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in the environmental, health, and safety field. Minimum of 5 years of relevant health and safety experience in a manufacturing setting. Proficient in interpreting environmental and occupational health and safety regulations. Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated leadership experience, including leading Joint Health and Safety Committees.
