Join us and be a part of something impactful!Job Overview:The Project Engineer plays a key role in supporting the implementation of construction activities. The position involves monitoring the contractors progress, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and reviewing technical submittals. The Project Engineer collaborates with the contractor's teams, liaises with external stakeholders (e.g., TransLink, City of Vancouver), and supports quality assurance processes alongside the Provinces Quality Manager. They also assist with traffic management implementation and public inquiries, working closely with the Owners Engineer and internal communications teams.Our Corporate Values:Success is shared.Relationships matter.Teamwork builds capacity.Challenges are embraced.We do what we say we will doWhat we offer:Vacation starts at 5 weeks and you earn 1 day per year to a maximum of 6 weeks; however, if you join us from the BC Public Service your starting point will be commensurate with your earned years of serviceLearning and Development TI Corp is dedicated to professionally growing staff and building internal capacity, through mentorship, active succession planning, learning and development financial assistance, and membership duesWe offer the same extended health benefits that are offered to included BC Public Servants plus a $1000 Health Spending Account annuallyWe are part of the BC Public Sector Pension Plan if you join us from other Public Service or Public Sector organizations who are part of this pension plan, your pension will continue seamlesslyKey Accountabilities:Monitor, track, and review the contractors submittals related to schedule, work methodologies, design and field changes, and handover.Provide advice, guidance, and support on issues related to construction.Build and maintain relationships with the contractors technical team, construction team.Liaise with external stakeholders (e.g., TransLink, City of Vancouver, Metro Vancouver, third-party developers).Lead quality reviews of completed works and provide support to the Provinces Quality Manager in identifying potential non-conformances.Work closely with the Provinces Owners Engineer team in the review of the contractors submittals and in addressing technical issues.Monitor and report on the contractors construction progress.Provide support to the Provinces Traffic Manager in monitoring the implementation of traffic control plans.Work closely with the internal communications team and other team members to address public inquiries.Qualifications:Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a degree in an applicable engineering field and registered as a P.Eng. or EIT with Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC). Preference may be given to applicants with experience in project management or construction management.
