supervising the manufacturing, construction or installation of different components to ensure compliance with technical drawings, client specifications and applicable standards according to SGS procedures.The incumbent will perform various tasks related to the supervision of construction and site processes, such as progress reports, witness testing, dimensional, visual inspection, safety inspections on a short-, medium-, and long-term basis.Site Visit and visual inspection Perform tasks specified by his/her manager;Inspection & witness civil/structural construction activities for the underground and overhead lines Daily site inspection during the assigned hours by his/her manager for day time and night time and weekend (if required) Reviewing project inspection time table and track inspection hoursPerforming critical task inspection as defined in project critical task list Reporting and Project work coordination, attending in project meetings Ensure that onsite work completed at the clients location is consistent with the mandate, is completed on time and is conducted in a professional manner with meticulous attention to detail in order to provide excellent service;Oversee the material test for ongoing construction activities for conformance to project drawings, specifications, building codes, time schedules, budget levels and other applicable regulationsIdentify and analyse client needs;Document control, Tracking project information/document/drawings to make sure using the valid documentsProduce various reports including daily, weekly and at month end;Complete applications for creating new customer accounts/informationManage project informationMaintaining project documents, latest standard and share it with other inspectors as requiredFollow up with client/contractor to get required documentsMaintain projects status (project physical and financial progress)Prepare project progress statements/reportsWorking with other team member to prepare reports and send them to clientRespond to customer/contractor inquiries, maintain good relationships with contractor/Client and solve problems;Work with project manager to serve the client with different type of reports and work out with contractors representativesPrepare excel sheet/spreadsheets for projects information, and contractorsHelping project manager and team member to provide new documents as per project needsOther office works to submit reports and documents to client/contractorsGoing to client and project locations to pick up/deliver documents and visiting site condition and other inspector activities and also cover the other team members if requiredPlan and prepare work to be completed onsite at the clients location or job site (documents, equipment)Review technical specifications;Review design drawings to ensure all of them are comply with Canadian standards,Review Shop Drawings and compare them with original designsCoordinate with Owner to obtain all of permits and make sure they are all valid during project constructionReview the relevant documents prior to start of construction, monitoring and verify construction including Quality Assurance, physical progress, evaluate filed change requests & make recommendationsCoordination with owner, 3rd parties and their Constructor & Subcontractors and provide feedbacks related to the findingsPrepare deficiency lists, non-conforming notices and monitor resolution and disposition of quality-related issues, punch-list and outstanding work to completion of the work and carry out final construction reviewIssuing and tracking Quality NCRs to contractors as for not following drawings, standards, projects requirements and client regulation/procedureIssuing and tracking Safety NCRs to contractors as for not following safety rules, Safety Regulations, safe work procedures and standards, projects requirements and client regulation/procedureTrack and manage project milestones to ensure all of activities performed in a timely mannerAttending in project meetings, chairing project meetings including engineering/consultant meetings, permitting, bi-weekly meetingsPreparing agenda and attending in pre-con meeting, chairing meetings and preparing meeting memoPrepare clear and concise reports within the prescribed time frames in same day of inspectionParticipate in preparing check list and job inspection test plans and quality assurance proceduresResponsible for tracking project information and all type of communications with project parties Review Contractor UPCMS and Billing/change orders or Prepare UPCMS Billing/change orders as required Managing/tracking monthly billing from contractor and follow up to approve and submit to clientPreparing UPCMS billing for any project as requiredTracking project invoices and Billing statusVerify work quantities and project changesFollow client change order procedure and audit, verify and approve contractor change ordersVerifying contractor UPCMS billing and their physical progress claiming,Project Close Out Preparing project close out reports, lesson learned, issue substantial completion certificate & payment certificatePerform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing and photocopying documents and issuing certificates, complete special projects.Tracking project close out documents and manage reportsReview and sign off on close package to make it ready to certify substantial completion by P.EngReview all of the GCF/RCF documents as per SGS check list and Client proceduresSign off close out documents as requiredParticipating in project close out meetings and processPerforming Site final walk down and preparing deficiency list, issue in-complete work tickets and approve attainment claim request QualificationsEducation: Civil Engineer / Certified Professional Engineer registered in the province of Ontario is an assetExperience: Over 7 years of experienceAdvanced skill in site inspection to verify compliance with drawings & technical specifications; perform visual inspections according to the criteriaExcellent in maintaining records of work quality and overseeing project non-conformance reporting processExperienced in monitoring construction, work schedule, keep daily inspection logs, photographs & receipt inspections, communicate project status, ensuring execution proficiency, accuracy, and professionalismKnowledge in project scope, change control, defect and warranty claims, escalating issues & resolve disputesKnowledge in bid processes, purchase order, negotiation and contract, effective management of select assignments, budget, procurement and working with suppliers and vendors and ensuring owner satisfactionExcellent in developing project documents, procedures to support QA and QC, complete the necessary quality forms related to monitoring or inspection work; obtain information required for carrying out the workAbility to read and interpret drawings& specifications based on engineered design.Knowledge of the following civil standards; Canadian Civil Code, CSA, ASCE, ETC.Experience in inspection & supervision of construction projects for Roads, building, bridges, towers, highways, etc.Experience in inspection of all type of footing, foundation, installation & assembly would be an asset.Experience in underground utility projectsFamiliar with Urban and municipal worksFamiliar with Book-7 and Road work safety and traffic controlFamiliar with work safety and general hazardsExperience in inspection & supervision of construction projects for Infrastructures, utilities, urban development, power distribution, pilling, roads, building, bridges, towers, highways, etc.Experience in inspection & supervision of construction activities for excavation, shoring, deep foundationKnowledge on reading underground utility drawings and locate drawingsKnowledge on hydro vacuum excavation and day lightingExperience in temporary support for underground utilities (cable, water main, gas, )Knowledge in City of Toronto MCR and regulation for Construction/development in UrbanKnowledge in minimum clearances for construction around utilitiesExperience in Inspection & Test witness of construction material.Experience in project management.
