Torus Talent is conducting a global search for a highly skilled Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement professional for our Vancouver based mining and resources client. Job Title: Operational Excellence Manager Mining SystemsLocation: Vancouver, BC with Travel required up to 40%About the OpportunityOur client, a leading Canadian resource company, is looking for an Operational Excellence Manager Mining Systems to support and strengthen operational performance across its mining sites. This role focuses on improving how day-to-day operations are run by sustaining and advancing a structured internal approach called the Management Operating System (MOS).The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders at multiple mine sites, helping them implement consistent best practices, develop people through coaching and training, and improve how teams operate across the board.This position is part of the broader Operations Excellence function, which also includes areas like asset management, analytics, and readiness for new operations. The work is strategic and hands-on, involving site visits, cross-functional collaboration, and a strong focus on driving real, measurable improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesPromote and uphold a strong culture of safety in all activities.Lead efforts to maintain and improve the companys structured operating system (MOS) across all mine sites.Work directly with local site leaders to help them adopt, adjust, and sustain the MOS in a way that delivers real business value.Develop and deliver coaching, leadership development, and training programs aligned with operational best practices.Support one of the companys major operations by improving how it is measured against MOS standards and ensuring those standards are consistently followed.Drive the long-term success of change initiatives by ensuring that each site owns its process and continues to improve over time.Act as a bridge between site teams and corporate standard owners by sharing feedback and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.Promote awareness and understanding of the MOS across operations and other business functions.Encourage a culture focused on innovation, quality, and ongoing improvement.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.1015+ years of experience in an industrial setting such as mining, energy, manufacturing, or related fields.A strong background in Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, or similar roles focused on improving how work gets done.Understanding of structured operating systems and the technologies that can support them.Proven project management experience.Skilled in analyzing data to evaluate the impact and value of improvement initiatives.Experience leading change management efforts and guiding teams through organizational change.Ability to lead and influence diverse teams, including working in a matrix environment and coordinating with external partners.Excellent communication and facilitation skills.Comfortable traveling to operational sites up to 40% of the time.Why Consider This Role?This position offers the opportunity to be part of a company committed to responsible resource development and operational excellence.
