Our client, a leading manufacturer, is seeking aTechnical Trainerto join their team. This role is focused on developing and delivering technical training programsparticularly in the areas of Equipment and Assemblyin support of their growing operations.The Technical Training & Development Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating technical training programs in a manufacturing setting. This role works closely with operations leadership, internal and external trainers, and apprenticeship program representatives. The ideal candidate brings a blend of instructional design knowledge and hands-on experience to support employee development and optimize workforce performance.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with manufacturing and operations leaders to roll out training initiativesCoordinate and facilitate both on-the-floor and classroom training programsConduct training needs assessments through surveys, interviews, and focus groupsSource external training partners and make recommendations for program implementationAdminister apprenticeship programs and serve as primary liaison with governing bodiesLead onboarding and orientation for new hires in technical rolesDeliver policy and procedural training; support documentation draftingApply change management principles to support program implementationDevelop innovative training solutions, including on-the-job learning approachesCreate or source course materials, manuals, and guidesPresent content using various delivery methods: group sessions, e-learning, virtual, and moreMaintain detailed training records and evaluate program effectivenessEnsure compliance of training content with relevant regulationsParticipate in broader HR initiatives as neededStay current with trends in training and developmentQualifications35 years of experience in training and development, preferably in a manufacturing settingBackground in Adult Education, Engineering, or a related discipline is an assetExperience with developing and executing training programs in technical environmentsProven ability to implement learning strategies using digital and traditional methodsStrong presentation, facilitation, and instructional design skillsAbility to train in both classroom and shop floor settingsEffective at working cross-functionally with all levels of an organizationExcellent time-management and prioritization skillsProficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and ExcelExperience with e-learning tools such as Articulate is an assetHigh level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential informationDavid Aplin & Associates Inc., operating as Aplin, and its associated brands, CompuStaff and Impact Recruitment, is an award-winning employment agency connecting diverse, top-tier talent with exceptional organizations across North America.
