Java Software Engineer Anson McCade are pleased to be working with a consultancy who have an urgent demand for a senior software engineer to work on a government project kicking off in the next 4 weeks. Job Description: We are seeking a self-driven and experienced Java Developer to join ta digital transformation project on a 12-month day rate contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in the modernization of a legacy Java system, requiring strong technical skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining clear and consistent communication with the wider team. Key Responsibilities: Analyse and transfer functionality from a legacy Java system Design and build modern, scalable APIs using Java Spring Boot Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions Ensure maintainability, performance, and reliability of application components Contribute to both backend and frontend (React) as needed Required Skills & Experience: Proven experience with Java and Spring Boot , particularly in designing and building RESTful APIs Exposure to or working knowledge of React for front-end development Ability to work independently as a contractor while maintaining strong lines of communication Previous experience in legacy system migration or modernization projects is highly desirable Start Date: ASAP Duration: 12 months Work Arrangement: Fully Remote Client: Nova Scotia Government Vehicles Workstream Rate: Competitive Day Rate
