Career Opportunity in Urology The Department or Surgery, Division of Urology is seeking a Full Time Associate. We are a group of 6 full time urologists currently looking to recruit a board-certified Urologist. The successful candidate will be practicing out of Brampton Civic Hospital (BCH) and Peel Memorial Centre (PMC) and is expected to manage all aspects of community-based urology including common benign and malignant urological conditions, with a focus on urological oncology. The candidate will be supported with OR resources to perform common procedures including but not limited to ureteroscopy/laser lithotripsy/PCNL, greenlight PVP/TURP/TURBT, scrotal/penile surgery, TVT/TVTO. We are a high-volume centre for urologic oncology and the candidate will be expected to be proficient in open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery. Outpatient cystoscopy resources will also be available at BCH and PMC sites. The candidate is expected to provide 1 in 7 on-call coverage for the Urology service. The preferred candidate is expected to perform robotic-assisted urological surgeries, including procedures for prostate cancer, kidney cancer and other urological conditions. The chosen candidate will conduct advanced laparoscopic surgeries for conditions such as nephrectomy, pyeloplasty, and adrenal surgery, demonstrating proficiency and innovation in minimally invasive techniques. Additionally, the candidate will manage stone disease surgeries, including advanced metabolic stone evaluation. Remuneration is fee-for-service as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees. In addition, there is also a provision of on-call stipend via HOCC. Qualifications The candidates must have a Certificate of Registration to practice from the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario and have certification in Urology from the College of Physicians of Canada. A Fellowship with exposure to robotic oncology from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada is preferred but not required. The position requires excellent communication skills in English. Additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population. They will also foster a collaborative environment with colleagues, nurses, and support staff to ensure comprehensive, patient-centred care. In addition, the candidate will provide leadership in the development and implementation of clinical pathways and best practices for robotic urology, laparoscopy, and stone disease management. Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings will be essential to help optimize patient care plans and outcomes for complex urological cases.
