We are seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to oversee office and shop operations as well as project and job estimating. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned leader who excels in both strategic operations and the technical precision of estimating large-scale projects. You must be a Canadian resident and either local to Yellowknife or willing to relocate. Compensation is based on experience and is competitive. Responsibilities include: Overseeing general business operations, project execution, and team leadership Preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for complex projects Developing and executing bid strategies in collaboration with internal teams Managing financial reporting, budgets, and operational metrics Ensuring company compliance with safety standards, HR policies, and WSCC regulations Supporting business development efforts with client presentations and proposal submissions Ideal qualifications: Minimum 10 years of experience in construction, fabrication, or industrial project management At least 10 years of estimating experience on large-scale or custom projects Proven leadership and team-building skills in a fast-paced environment Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) Valid drivers license and willingness to travel as needed Certifications such as WSCC Supervisor Level 2 and Standard First Aid are assets Education in business, engineering, construction management, or a related trade is preferred This position is ideal for someone ready to take full ownership of operational performance while applying their expertise to high-value project estimating.
