About the client: Our client is a leading organization providing professional solutions to the poultry industry in Western Canada. Due to the companys expansion and rapid growth, they are adding a Director of Operations to their team in the Fraser Valley area, BC. The new hire will look after operations across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba and will have four direct reports, a Regional Manager for each Province. The Director of Operations will support the General Manager with the execution of the companys strategic plans while ensuring that new and existing processes & systems are properly implemented and consistent with companys policies and objectives. Responsibilities: Monitor and manage productivity and performance Deliver exceptional levels of service excellence across all sales and activity channels Provide oversight for Fleet Management plan Diligent Management of Expense Budget Conceptualize and justify Capital Expenditures Demonstrate adherence to Animal Welfare practices & Care Ensure a strong focus on the creation and maintenance of a safe workplace Ensure compliance with corporate, industry, and regulatory standards Maintain interaction with farmers & frontline processor representatives Develop a high-performance culture and provide training, motivation, and leadership to team members Develop and ability to implement rapid response emergency plans Create and maintain a continuous improvement environment Qualifications: 10+ years of active experience in a service driven, profit responsible role Degree in Animal Science or similar discipline preferred Previous experience working within an animal agriculture environment an asset Experience managing and leading a diverse workforce Previous experience organizing rapid response emergencies Tech savvy and familiar with Microsoft Suite Ability to travel across Canada when needed Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken) Strong leadership and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize and multitask Compensation: $135,000-145,000 (negotiable) + performance bonus ($15-20k on average) Extended health benefits, company vehicle, paid time off
