Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Fleet Supervisor with expertise in Class 1 driver training, coaching, and fleet asset planning/management to oversee our commercial vehicle operations. The ideal candidate will ensure safety compliance, driver performance, and cost-effective fleet maintenance while optimizing asset utilization. Key Responsibilities 1. Driver Training & Coaching Develop and implement Class 1 driver training programs (new hires & ongoing certification). Conduct road tests, evaluations, and safety coaching for drivers. Ensure compliance with Provincial regulations, CVSE regulations, and Hours of Service (HOS) . Mentor drivers on fuel-efficient driving, load security, and defensive driving techniques . 2. Fleet Maintenance & Asset Management Support planning and scheduling of preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs (DVIR compliance). Monitor fuel consumption, tire wear, and telematics data to reduce operating costs. 3. Safety & Compliance Enforce WorkSafe BC safety standards and conduct regular audits. Investigate incidents/accidents , complete reports, and implement corrective actions. Maintain driver qualification files (DQF), ELD compliance, and licensing records . Support, maintain and train the safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods and other relevant certifications. 4. Team Leadership & Operations Support Drive proactive driver recruitment and skills development. Supervise drivers and maintenance staff (performance reviews, scheduling). Optimize route planning and asset allocation to meet delivery demands. Liaise with logistics, warehouse and finance teams on service KPIs and budget adherence. 5. Technology & Reporting Utilize fleet management software (e.g., Geotab, TGI, iBright, Limble). Generate reports on fuel efficiency, maintenance costs, and driver performance . Qualifications & Requirements Mandatory Valid Class 1 Drivers License with a clean abstract. 3+ years in fleet supervision , including Class 1 driver training . 5+ years of Commercial driving experience , with significant tractor trailer work navigating all season mountain driving conditions. Strong knowledge of: WorkSafe BC and CVSE regulations. DOT inspections, PM schedules, Hours of Service Proficiency in fleet telematics and maintenance software . Preferred Certification and experience in driver instruction. Experience with v aried types of commercial equipment, trucks & trailers. Post-secondary diploma in logistics, transportation, or related field. Work Conditions Hybrid role : balance between office, yard/field and in-cab environments.
