Our client, a manufacturing company in Kitchener - Waterloo area is looking for a Senior PLC Programmer to join their team. Primary Responsibilities: Existing Machine Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvements Troubleshoot programming errors, electrical problems & mechanical issues Make adjustments to machine controls to improve throughput Work with maintenance & manufacturing engineers to implement CI projects including new sensors, cylinders, & devices Documentation, Revision History, Safety Complete machine specific and programming descriptor documentation Ensure safety procedures and lock out policy followed at all times Qualifications (education & skills required): Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Robotics & Automation, and/or Licensed Electrician Minimum of 5 years experience PLC programming & hardware setup preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment Ability to commission operator interfaces and data collection systems (Indusoft with SQL connection.) Experience programming and troubleshooting Rockwell Automation, RS Logix5000/RS Logix 500, Omron, and Siemens on new and existing machinery Working knowledge of Cognex, Teledyne/Dalsa and Keyence vision appliances Field experience in set ups and commissioning of equipment Must have: Practical knowledge of KUKA, Motoman and Fanuc robotics Knowledge of electrical devices, electrical schematics, instrumentation & control panel drawings Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics & DC servomotors, machine automation, assembly systems integration & applications of robotics, safety systems
