Position: Inventory AnalystLocation: Calgary, AlbertaContract term: 2 years possibility of extensionIntroductionBrunel is currently seeking an experienced Inventory Analyst to support our oil and gas client in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the CP Planning and Procurement Manager, it is a key role that is responsible to manage the inventory and demand planning processes in support of strengthening a world class supply chain to meet the business demand. This inventory analyst will be experienced in setting up, maintaining and improving an end-to-end inventory management strategy(ies) and processes for large scale process industry Operations, industrial projects, shutdowns and turnarounds and has also planned for material storage, preservation and oversee the implementation.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, improve and optimize the SAP MM (Materials Management) PlanPerform both strategic and transactional inventory management optimizing inventory across the operations.Develop, implement and maintain inventory work processes with a focus on continuous improvementsDevelop, deploy and monitor inventory KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and inventory performance against targets.Provide early planning & input into the on-boarding approach for asset purchases- Share best practices cross-warehouse/country/business.Identify MM continuous improvement initiatives at local/ site levelProvide an interface between Material Management and Plant Maintenance to ensure the completeness and accuracy of BoMs (Bill of Materials).Provide material visibility and assurance during planning, through work order release to work executionSupport the design and configuration of the Materials Management Module in SAP to deliver optimum flexibility and performance aligned with available/chosen supply chainsDeliver Operational spare parts and BOM build support.Working collaboratively, complete Inventory Analyst reviews of spare parts and select optimum sparing levels for the supply chain, considering all elements and maintenance advisor input.Fully responsible for ensuring quality and accuracy of the material master for the plant.In collaboration with Discipline Engineers, develop and implement obsolescence plan for our client.Prepare annual plan for inventory review and seek sign off from the businessSurplus identification and take measures to prevent buildup of excess stockDevelop implementation & maintenance of inventory work process improvementsDevelop and implement inventory & disposal policyDevelop performance dashboard of the inventory management areaFollowing our client coding system, create and amend Material Master.Provide early planning and input into the on-boarding approach for the purchasing of a new asset from the MM perspectiveReview proposed spare parts / BOMs list to ensure that the MRD transfers are set up in our client systems correctly and stocking decisions are set up in line with current inventory philosophyPerform mass data uploads into SAP, as and when needed.Work with CP Lead/ Contract Engineers/ Contract Analyst to support Contract Holder with fit-for-purpose MM support to embed MM excellence in contractsProvide advisory support to CP Lead and Contract Holder to identify areas of MM value leakage/ improvements from MM perspectiveRequirementsA seasoned CP professional with good commercial skills and at least 6 years relevant experience in the oil and gas industry covering a mixture of Technical and Materials Management engineering disciplines.We are seeking an individual with experience in the following:Very strong analytical and critical thinking skills is a must.Very strong knowledge for equipment and parts management in support of plan maintenance.Very strong knowledge of Work Order and associated processes to drive progress around inventory management.Execution of key demand and inventory management activities, including planning and replenishment, demand forecasting, expediting, assurance, compliances and reporting, lead-time analysis and reduction.Perform periodic risk analysis with stakeholders (engineering, maintenance & procurement) stakeholders to effectively balance the plant reliability and associated costs to maintain the acceptable risk profile.Identify and implement opportunities to reduce working capital and periodically create or enhance awareness among stakeholders to continually improve upon the working capital engaged in the business.Using inventory work processes and systemsContributing to annual inventory planningPerform slow moving and dead inventory analysis to optimize the inventory and lead / coordinate the inventory disposal.Monitoring inventory KPIs and inventory performance against targetsIdentifying methods to optimize stock (i.e. surplus management)Understanding of MMR and BoM best practiceLiaising with the Business on inventory level and stocking strategyManaging and coaching stakeholders to create awareness on cost optimization initiatives.Managing customers and key stakeholders, i.e. WH Lead, Maintenance, CPUsing SAP-IM and SAP-MM to control warehouse operations.Able to research and understand external benchmarks and best practices for safety and operations critical materialIdentifying opportunities for improved performance, competencies, and materials management excellence.What We OfferWhy work with Brunel?
