IMMEDIATE INTERIM OPPORTUNITYInterim Chief Information Officer Reports to: SVP Corporate ServicesDuration: 6 MonthsLocation: Waterloo, ON Hybrid (1 day onsite)Our client, a high profile Canadian broader public sector organization is looking to hire an experienced technology leader to help them challenge established thinking and modernize their approach to technology. This is a fantastic assignment as you will be both an operational leader and a strategic consultant. The broad scope of this engagement includes technology platforms, help desk functions, data security & integrity, hardware, and software resources, implementing new technology initiatives, ensuring cyber security protocols are up-to-date and effective, as well as developing and administering IT procedures & protocols that support strategic and operational goals. Key Accountabilities: Assess IT functions, including infrastructure, applications, systems, processes, and people providing key insights and recommendations to the SVP.Provide advisory support to the executive team on ongoing system implementations.Coach, lead and inspire a diverse team through a period of transition and change.Develop a plan to ensure that the organizations IT functions align with its overall strategic goals and are integrated efficiently, in terms of cost and ease of use.Develop, deliver, and operate robust, scalable, supportable technology roadmaps and platforms with a focus on creating customer and employee value.Construct an effective IT strategy encompassing software management, hardware management, vendor management, risk management and all related considerations in the IT environment.Determine organization-wide information needs and develop and lead implementation and maintenance strategies in support of these needs.Provide recommendations on the new IT organization structure and create a pathway to the future state.Ensures organization has a well understood and shared, technology agenda, which includes a defined target state and strategic roadmaps which govern investment priorities and technology decisions.Partners with senior leadership and business unit leaders and engages front line staff to identify and prioritize human capital needs including capabilities and competencies) to deliver technology requirements and enhancements needed in support of business operations. Ensures successful process for implementation of existing system enhancements, upgrades, updates, patches, and fixes to ensure optimal system performance, data integrity and reliability.Reviews current operating environment including legacy technology and provides advice about best-in-class approached to enhancements, upgrades and replacements.Partners with leaders across the organization to develop strategies to use technologies to deliver operating efficiencies, cost savings, productivity improvements and customer service enhancements.Identify and manage IT risks and collaborate with senior leaders to ensure effective, secure methods and processes for data governance, information protection and privacy.Ensures highly effective technology vendor management and compliance reporting.Qualifications & Education: Master Level, University Education in a relevant field, is preferred but any other combination of University Degree(s) plus the relevant experience for a CIO role would be considered.Excellent analytical, problem recognition and problem-solving skills.At least 20 years in IT and of those 10 in a leadership position.Visionary leader with a track record of enabling teams and attracting and retaining highly diverse and talented people.Proven ability to drive digital transformations and reshape technology strategies.Ability to dissect and diagnose business and process issues/opportunities to apply appropriate technology solutionsPLEASE SEND YOUR CV (AS A WORD DOC) TO: (Subject: Job Title)LHH Knightsbridge Interim Management is a service to help our clients address a wide range of scenarios including leadership support due to sudden departures, driving key change initiatives or leading transformation projects.
