Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.NOTE:100% onsiteMust be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start dateValid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving recordRESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise unionized experimental mechanics supporting testing operationsPlan, coordinate and prioritize experimental mechanic activities to meet testing operation objectives in a safe and efficient manner.Comply with the collective bargaining agreementBe integral to the path to Zero Injuries Supervise group of experimental mechanics performing test setup, test rig maintenance and other operational functionsDevelop and modify standard operating procedures and work instructions for activities, tooling and equipmentSupervise in accordance to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, procedures and guidelinesOversee experimental mechanics preventative maintenance program for automotive testing equipment Prioritize tasks and manpower based on urgency and workforce availabilityMaintain accurate hourly timekeeping records, vacation and time off requestsPerform workplace inspections to maintain a clean and safe work environment.Procure parts, materials and rentals as required to complete tasksTrack data for KPI and KAI performance targetsMaintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliersMonitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipmentREQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Certificate of Qualification as an engineering technologist or any trade designation3-5 years of supervisory experience in an industrial settingExperience with automated equipment with preference to automotive assembly or automotive component testing would be a benefit3-5 years of experience in a unionized labour environmentTechnical knowledge of automobiles and electric vehicles would be a benefitWillingness to accept a wide variety of assignmentsKnowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OH&SA Regulations Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, ability to learn and operate other computer based and web-based programs Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, written and verbal communication skillsOTHER PERKS & BENEFITS:Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)MEDA offers an excellent referral bonus.
