In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to our attorneys, manage client communications, and assist with legal research and document preparation. Your responsibilities will include:Track and manage all deadlines for trademark and patent matters, ensuring timely follow-up.Prepare and file forms and applications for Canadian, US, and Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications.Handle electronic filings and prosecution of Canadian, US, and International trademark and patent applications, including related reports and amendments.Monitor due date reports and ensure all deadlines are met.Communicate and correspond with clients regarding their trademark and patent matters.Process expense reports accurately and efficiently.Manage a high volume of work with precision and excellent organizational skills.Oversee calendar management to ensure all appointments and deadlines are scheduled appropriately.Handle accounting-related tasks, including accounts and billing.Perform daily administrative tasks to support the legal team.Ensure all work produced is of the highest quality.Take initiative and be accountable for all assigned tasks.Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role.What You Need to SucceedAt least 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant specializing in Intellectual Property, particularly in trademarks and patents.Completion of post-secondary education.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.Familiarity with CIPOs online systems is advantageous.Capable of managing time-sensitive situations and handling the stress of multiple demands effectively.What You Will Receive in ReturnBase salary of $70,000-80,0005% RRSP match10 sick days per year2 remote working days per weekBenefits paid 100% by the firmOpportunities for professional development and career advancementSupportive and collaborative work environmentAccess to cutting-edge legal resources and technology
