Principal Resource Geologist - Ontario - Residential PositionAbout the roleThe Principal Geologist will support and mentor Mineral Resource estimation professional. The role ensures resource estimation risks, both opportunities and threats, are identified and managed. This role is to undertake Mineral Resource and Grade Control modelling and estimation, collaborate and assist with operational and other geological projects including development of reconciliation processes and associated reporting.This position is a residential opportunity in a beautiful area of Ontario. Full relocation costs will be covered. Position responsibilities:The role ensures delivery to the Resource Estimation function across there mining Operations with a focus on excellence, and continuous improvement. The role forms a key part of the geology function and will ensure seamless interaction between Exploration, Resource and Reserve Definition and Mine Planning functions. To undertake Mineral Resource and Grade Control modelling and estimation, collaborate and assist with operational and other geological projects including development of reconciliation processes and associated reporting.About YouAs a Principal Resource Geologist, you will have a Bachelor's Degree or MSc in Geology.Demonstrated relevant experience with at least proven experience in a senior resource estimation roleMust have broad experience in production geology, mineral resource estimation for long and short term mine planning, grade control practices, underground ore control across a range of gold deposit typesPreference for experience in advanced-stage exploration projects and geoscience contribution to major capital project developmentMust have demonstrated stakeholder engagement and leadership skillsMust have demonstrated training, coaching and mentoring experiencePrevious experience in the development of Mineral Resource reporting systems and processes and a good understanding of JORC codePrevious experience leading resource geologists in a similar mining operationPreference for demonstrated ability to drive excellence and support collaboration across multiple sites
