The position is responsible for supporting departmental requirements through ensuring a safe completion of tasks and operation of equipment, organization of workflow, ensuring key targets and accurate results are achieved, effectively managing resources to help ensure departmental expectations are achieved. The attributes we are looking for:Maintain a culture of health and safety, by executing the health and safety program. Facilitate root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans to address hazardous conditions or unsafe behaviors. Act in accordance with all applicable health and safety legislation.Supervising and assisting in the operation of the Inspection department as well as employees to ensure that quantitative and qualitative measures included in the operating plan are met. Ensuring and optimizing work output, health and safety, GMP, area sanitation, customer satisfaction, staffing. Promote a focus of all Inspection activities including those required to support food safety and quality. Provide leadership throughout the inspection process by understanding the acceptable product-specific quality standards, making sound decisions based on results and providing direction/feedback throughout the process. Summarizing and reporting of inspection results in an accurate, effective and timely manner.Provide day-to-day leadership to staff by maintaining work schedule, providing work direction, facilitating shift start up meetings, managing training and providing performance feedback.Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.What you will bring:College diploma (or equivalent level of training)Minimum two (2) years experience as a supervisor and/or leadership role in a warehouse and or manufacturing industry. Food and HACCP exposure preferred. Certified forklift driver and experienced in the supervisory responsibilities under WSIB/WCB, OSHA, and First Aid is an assetStrong interpersonal, and verbal and written communications skills Demonstrated proficiency with standard office computer technology such as Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), as well as business systems such as SAP/Infolog/Datex. Goals oriented with ability effectively supervise a team to achieve expected results.
