Fuel your career with GEODIS and discover endless growth opportunities.Your role on the team:Customs Operations Managers are responsible to ensure that the company and its employees are operating and processing customs clearance activities in compliance with government trade regulations while focusing on driving the department to meet and exceed budget expectations.Regulatory compliance, providing operational customs brokerage guidance to staff, ensuring customer service retention and department financial compliance is being metReview, evaluation and implementation of procedures and processes (best practices), incl. training and mentoring of staffCorporate compliance to company directives (AMPS, CTPAT - PIP)Maintain and enforce Canadian Customs Brokerage standard operating proceduresDrive timely and accurate invoicingEnsure CARM month-end payments are billed out within the same month for reconciliationEnforce all shipments received are recorded with file level revenues and costs are booked within the same financial period, ensuring all file cost allocations are completed before the month end or accrued into the same periodMinimize un-allocated payments (waste - demurrage, file level errors) and assist with A/R functions resolving disputes for non-paymentKey contact with governmental agencies aligned to CBSA and lead customer compliance with these governmental agenciesRegulatory compliance (CA Customs and other federal agencies)Evaluate, communicate, and act on all exceptions and deviations conflicting with Customs Product standards, procedures, and goalsFollow-up of corrective actions taken on exceptions and deviations to secure continuous development, quality improvement and profitability enhancementFocus on department KPI's to ensure targets are metHire, develop and mentor staffLead Department staff, meeting company goals and expectationsComplete annual and mid-year reviews of Customs staff working with them for future goalsWhat you need: (requirements)CCS &/or CTCSHold and maintain Customs Brokerage LicenseOptional: CIFFA certificate (differentiator)4+ years Customs Brokerage experience in a leadership role with staff reporting line.Ability understand Customs Act and Excise Act or other regulations and apply themAble to review products for HS Classification indications and locate any department regulations that may be applicableCargowise Certified Operator (CCO) - Operator, Specialist, Professional (differentiator)CW e-manifest & file creationPrevious experience managing a teamWhat you gain from joining our team: Text APPLY to (289)275-8973 to apply or check out more jobs at your future at GEODIS.
