Construction FLM / General Foreman / SuperintendentLocation: Durham, OntarioContract Duration: 1 YearPosition Overview: Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a construction background to join our team on a one-year contract basis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in performing constructability reviews and will work closely with various teams to ensure that construction projects are planned, executed, and completed in accordance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.Key Responsibilities:Perform constructability reviews to identify potential challenges in the construction phase and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and safety.Oversee the day-to-day construction activities, ensuring work is executed in accordance with project schedules, specifications, and safety standards.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.Lead and supervise construction teams, providing guidance and ensuring effective communication and coordination among all team members.Monitor and report on project progress, providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations, quality control standards, and OPGs policies and procedures.Assist in the development and management of project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.Required Qualifications:Proven experience in a construction management role, such as Construction FLM, General Foreman, or Superintendent.Demonstrated ability to conduct constructability reviews and provide recommendations for improvements.Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage teams effectively.In-depth knowledge of construction processes, standards, and safety regulations.Experience working on large-scale construction projects, preferably within the energy or power generation sectors.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience supporting Ontario Power Generation or similar utility companies.Certification or training in construction safety management (e.g., OSH, CPR/First Aid).
