Senior Analyst, Strategy About Us Wittington is a holding company that acts as the central investment vehicle for the Weston family. It is the controlling shareholder of George Weston and, through it, Wittington controls Loblaw and Choice Properties. The firms private investment arm manages a global, diversified portfolio and direct investments focused on selected sectors. Wittington is also the home to several charitable foundations, including the Weston Family Foundation and Hilary & Galen Weston Foundation. Wittington also operates as the family office for the Weston family. Opportunity OverviewWittington's Strategy team supports the development and execution of our strategic agenda, delivering thought leadership and actionable insights to address critical challenges and identify new opportunities across our portfolio. This team also provides strategic support to our investment teams and charitable foundations. Wittington is looking to strengthen and grow its Strategy team with the addition of a Senior Analyst, Strategy. Reporting to the Director, Strategy, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for evaluation and analysis of strategic initiatives and investments and executing internal projects across Wittingtons portfolio of assets and charitable foundations. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Duties & ResponsibilitiesConduct in-depth analysis and synthesis of data from internal and external sources, including financial statements, to assess opportunities across Wittington's portfolioEvaluate and analyze strategic initiatives, investments, and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to senior leadershipSupport the assessment of M&A transactions, including conducting research, diligence, and financial analysisDevelop business cases and robust financial models, including acquisition and valuation models, to support strategic decision-makingPrepare comprehensive analyses and presentations to effectively communicate findings and strategies to internal stakeholders, including senior managementCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development and execution of Wittingtons strategic agenda, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.Interact effectively with internal team members, leaders of operating businesses, and external advisors and consultants such as bankers, lawyers, and accountantsInteract effectively with internal team members, leaders of operating businesses, and external advisors and consultants such as bankers, lawyers, and accountantsRequired Qualifications and Behavioral Attributes: Bachelor of Commerce/Business Administration (or a similar degree, e.g. Economics)The successful candidate will have 2-3 years of experience and demonstrated a track record of success in any of the following sectors: strategy consulting, private equity, investment banking, corporate development, or corporate strategyStrong financial acumen and business judgment, with good command of financial statements and other data sources for investment decision-makingAnalytical mindset and strong critical thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to tackle complex projects and solve ambiguous or unstructured problems Demonstrated ability to ramp up quickly on new topics, and synthesize input from a variety of sources to provide clarity and recommendations for the businessDemonstrated ability to collaborate with peers and team leadership to uncover insight and influence stakeholders Exceptional communication skills, both written (e.g. building presentations for senior executives using PowerPoint, writing memos in Word) and verbalA high level of proficiency with Excel modeling with deep financial modeling and valuation experience considered an assetDemonstrated experience juggling multiple projects and priorities at the same time Completion of, or progress towards professional designations/degrees (e.g. CFA, CA, CBV, MBA) is not required, but considered an assetPersonal AttributesPolished demeanor and a high degree of maturity and professionalismSelf-motivated to produce quality work with minimal supervisionEffective time management skills and quick to outputHigh level of attention to detailConfidence to interact with managers and senior business leadersCreativity and a willingness to experiment with novel approachesClient-service mindset toward building relationships with across our businessesGet it done attitude; proactive rather than reactiveEnjoys a versatile and dynamic team environmentStrong willingness to learn, and develop based on feedback What We OfferCompetitive compensationA total rewards plan that includes flexible benefits as well as pension and investment plansA friendly, collaborative, and inclusive cultureHybrid workplaceTuition reimbursement and training to help you reach your full potentialWellness programs and initiativesWittington Investments, Limited is an equal opportunity employer committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
