Position Title: Western Canada Operations Data AnalystDepartment: Operations SupportReports To: Western Canada Manager, Operations DataDirect Reports: NoneIndirect Reports: NoneDate: April 2025Purpose of PositionThe Western Canada Operations Data Analyst supports the development and maintenance of operational datasets and reporting tools that drive performance, consistency, and continuous improvement across collection and post-collection programs in Western Canada. This role transforms raw data into actionable insights to inform business decisions across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance, Metrics & ReportingDesign, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports in collaboration with cross-functional teams, from requirement gathering to publication.Maintain the Master Dataset, ensuring data connectivity, integrity, and accessibility.Create custom DAX measures and use Power Query to enhance analytical outputs.Compile and deliver operational scorecards and performance metrics.Standardize collection and post-collection reporting across jurisdictions using consistent tools and methodologies.Document and maintain operational procedures, business glossaries, and reporting standards to support end users.Manage and archive reporting documents related to Recycle BC and SK Recycles programs.Monitor and evaluate the performance of service providers and third-party partners, ensuring compliance with agreements.Provide support on pilot projects and technology rollouts, offering guidance and reporting assistance.Identify and mitigate data-related risks and ensure regulatory and contractual compliance.Cross-Functional Collaboration & Technology SupportAct as a technical liaison for tools such as Power BI, CRM (C4C), AWS, SAP, and Microsoft Dynamics.Support team members in utilizing these tools effectively.Assist with planning and execution of operational projects, including pilots and new initiatives.Maintain an integrated supply chain perspective linking collection, post-collection, supply, and audit activities.Advocate for continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and reduce waste.Support JIRA adoption within the team, including board setup, filters, and dashboards to improve project tracking and collaboration.Work with IT and project leads to ensure accurate reflection of operational milestones in JIRA.Ensure alignment and data integrity across the Recycle BC and SK Recycles ecosystems and SAP systems.Interpersonal & Communication ResponsibilitiesInternal Collaboration:Partner closely with the Western Canada Manager, Operations Data to identify data and reporting needs.Collaborate with internal teams, including Recycle BC and SK Recycles staff, to ensure timely and accurate reporting.External Collaboration:Coordinate with external contractors and consultants on project deliverables.Work cross-functionally with departments including Business Intelligence & Analytics, Data Visualization, Enterprise Knowledge, and Report Development.QualificationsEducation:Post-secondary education in IT, analytics, business operations, supply chain, or administration is an asset but not mandatory.Experience:Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analytics, with a strong focus on Excel and Power BI.Experience in process improvement or operations is considered an asset.Technical Skills:Proficient in DAX, Power BI, Power Query, and Excel.Familiarity with CRM systems (C4C), SAP (BW, S4HANA), AWS, and Microsoft Dynamics.Basic knowledge of JIRA or similar project management tools.Ability to automate reporting workflows and manage dashboard version control using tools like SharePoint or DevOps.Soft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Clear communication and interpersonal skills to support collaboration across departments.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Self-motivated and able to work independently.A mindset focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.Working ConditionsOccasional travel within Western Canada may be required; a valid provincial drivers license is necessary.Extended hours may be needed during peak periods (e.g., quarterly reporting, business planning).Must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment with frequent changes.To apply, please submit your resume to this posting or email it directly to .
