They work coast-to-coast, in every railway sector, and on any size project.Job Title: EHS Site AdvisorEmployment Type: This position is full-time/permanentLocation: Greater Toronto Area including Bolton & OakvilleCompensation Range:This position offers a very competitive and attractive compensation structure, including:Company vehicle is providedAn industry-leading comprehensive benefits program, including extended health and dentalEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployer Contributions to RRSP, as well as Employee-Employer MatchingHealth and Wellness Spending Accounts, where unused amounts carry over before being deposited in RRSP.Tuition Assistance PlanAnnual 10-15% profit sharing/bonusLong-term career growth and development supported by the CompanyRole Summary:The EHS Site Advisor is responsible for providing advice, consultation, and guidance to all personnel in compliance with the core safety program that drives corporate strategy for strong safety performance and continuous improvement.The work is primarily supporting crews engaged in all types of railway track services (maintenance, rehabilitation, new construction).Primary Duties & Responsibilities Specific duties and responsibilities includeProvide advice and consultation to all personnel for programs that drive corporate strategy towards strong safety performance and continuous improvementProactively identify plans to reduce hazards to reduce risks to the organizationInvestigate processes; support management in the collection and tracking of all safety-related metricsEnsure that all Safety Meetings, Job Briefings, JHAs, FLRAs, and Inspections are conducted as per policy and documented appropriatelyAssist with or deliver HSE OrientationFacilitate other required corporate Safety trainingCoach and mentor field employees in safe work practices and proceduresConduct and lead incident investigationsCoordinate and prepare all HSE documentation that is commonly used by the business unitsActively initiate, coordinate, and support Joint Health and Safety Committees with field crewsDesign and create site or project-specific safety plans if required by managementHelp with identifying training for employees for incident prevention to maintain safety awarenessAnalyze safety conditions and recommend changes to improve operational safety performance continuouslyAssist with the maintenance of records as necessary to comply with relevant OHS legislation and regulations.Prepare and submit reports to document compliance and incidents.Assist with audits and inspections of operational activitiesReview existing safety systems and make a recommendation for improvement as requiredProvide advice on safety systems, trends, response actions, investigation, and interpretation of health and safety regulationsPromote various programs and initiatives to build and sustain a safety culture that becomes a way of life for employees and contractorsTake an active role in ensuring that all employees understand and comply with company policies and procedures.To be considered for this role, the EHS Site Advisor must have the following qualifications:A diploma/certificate in health & safety/environment or equivalent discipline.Minimum 3-5 years of Occupational Health & Safety experienceWorking toward CRSP or NCSO designation is preferred. (The company will support the certification process.)Experience and training in incident investigationAny root cause analysis training will be considered an assetGeneral understanding of HSE Management Systems,Experience in developing Site Safety Management Plans (SMP) is preferredExperience with managing the safety requirements of larger client railway, oil, and gas organizations will be considered an assetExperience with supporting the certificate of recognition (COR) audit processesAdditional RequirementMust be able to pass a Criminal Background Record CheckMust be able to legally work in CanadaDemonstrated ability to self-manage, work independently, and set schedules and activities in a coordinated mannerHow to apply?You can also apply by submitting your resume directly via email.
