Our portfolio includes the extensive GO Rail Expansion-On Corridor Project, the Scarborough Subway Extension Stations, Rail, and Systems Project, the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line, and most recently, the Fraser River Tunnel Replacement Project - all reinforcing FCC Construccins strong presence in the Canadian market.We are excited to be a part of the Cross Fraser Partnership for the Fraser River Tunnel Project, a significant initiative that will enhance transportation throughout the Greater Vancouver Region and invite you to be a part of the team that makes it a success.Join us at FCC Canada to be part of these groundbreaking projects and advance your career in a dynamic and innovative environment.Project OpportunityFCC Canada is looking for an experienced Means and Methods Engineer to join the Cross Fraser Partnership.The Cross Fraser Partnership team that will collaborate with the Province of BC through the development phase is comprised of Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd (FCC), Bouygues Construction Canada Inc, and Pomerleau BC Inc.The Fraser River Tunnel Project includes a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99. The new tunnel will have three vehicle lanes and a dedicated transit lane in each direction, with a separate active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians. The project also includes replacing the Deas Slough Bridge and decommissioning of the existing tunnel once the new tunnel is in operation.Main ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement detailed construction methods for tunnelling activities, including Formworks, temporary works development, bridge erection, site installations, logistic, lifting operations.Evaluate construction techniques to optimize efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and design teams to integrate construction methods into the overall project plan.Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and work instructions in line with project requirements.Provide technical guidance and solutions to construction challenges during tunnelling operations.Ensure compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.Monitor adherence to safety protocols, environmental guidelines, and quality standards.Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction activities to ensure compliance with approved methods.Maintain comprehensive records of construction methods, modifications, and outcomes.Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, including progress updates and technical analysesEducation and QualificationsBachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.5+ Years of experience as a Method Engineer, preferably in tunneling or infrastructure projects.Job RequirementsProficiency in Microsoft Project, AutoCAD.Revit is a plus.Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, construction materials, and tunnel support systems.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.Work EnvironmentFCC Canada Ltd. is committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive culture which promotes gender equity and the recruitment of all under-represented groups in all levels of its workforce. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidates experience and geographical location.
