About the client:Our client is a leading organization providing professional solutions to the poultry industry in Western Canada. Due to the companys expansion and rapid growth, they are adding a Director of Operations to their team in the Fraser Valley area, BC.The new hire will look after operations across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba and will have four direct reports, a Regional Manager for each Province.The Director of Operations will support the General Manager with the execution of the companys strategic plans while ensuring that new and existing processes & systems are properly implemented and consistent with companys policies and objectives.Responsibilities:Monitor and manage productivity and performanceDeliver exceptional levels of service excellence across all sales and activity channelsProvide oversight for Fleet Management planDiligent Management of Expense BudgetConceptualize and justify Capital ExpendituresDemonstrate adherence to Animal Welfare practices & CareEnsure a strong focus on the creation and maintenance of a safe workplaceEnsure compliance with corporate, industry, and regulatory standardsMaintain interaction with farmers & frontline processor representativesDevelop a high-performance culture and provide training, motivation, and leadership to team membersDevelop and ability to implement rapid response emergency plansCreate and maintain a continuous improvement environmentQualifications:10+ years of active experience in a service driven, profit responsible roleDegree in Animal Science or similar discipline preferredPrevious experience working within an animal agriculture environment an assetExperience managing and leading a diverse workforcePrevious experience organizing rapid response emergenciesTech savvy and familiar with Microsoft SuiteAbility to travel across Canada when neededExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken)Strong leadership and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize and multitaskCompensation: $135,000-145,000 (negotiable) + performance bonus ($15-20k on average)Extended health benefits, company vehicle, paid time off
