Hours: 3:00pm 12:00am - some weekend shifts maybe required In -person Major Job Functions: Schedule and administer defensive driving training sessions (classroom & in-vehicle) for all new and current drivers. Support Ops leaders in conducting pre-employment road tests with potential candidates to evaluate their ability to safely operate our trucks Evaluate the abilities of new CRPs in equipment handling, pre & post-trip inspections and in-cab technologies Assess and follow up with new hires to ensure they possess the skillset to perform all job tasks independently and safely Mentoring new and current Driver''s on defensive driving, safe fuel delivery techniques, and other associated tasks Conduct driving/work assessments as needed. Support EHS/Operations to update defensive driving training modules when needed. Conduct training need assessments and collaborate with management to identify skills or knowledge gaps, using the Lytx system. Ensure 4Refuels policies and procedures are adhered to i.e. curriculum training, safe operation, equipment maintenance, industry, and legislative safety requirements etc. Conduct remedial training based on incidents, Lytx trends, or management concerns Review Lytx events and provide expert opinion & coaching to Supervisors/Drivers Support Ops leaders to implement 4Refuel road safety initiatives in BTU''s Participate in incident investigations. Travel to other Yards/BTU''s (Business Team Unit) as required All other duties as required which may include supporting EH&S initiatives. Specific Skills: Passion/experience in instructing and mentoring others. Comprehensive knowledge of safe handling characteristics of fuel products. Exposure to Environmental, Health & Safety processes. Confident decision making. Have strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and French Ability to adapt training/coaching style to various learning abilities. Good organizational skills. Be able to work flexible hours Education & Experience: Industry experience previous experience as commercial driver trainer/coach/mentor. Minimum Class 3 or 1. Experience in transportation of petroleum products is preferred. Experience in managing safety in the transportation industry preferred. Knowledge: Strong understanding of the role of a driver trainer in commercial trucking and industry requirements (fuel industry is preferred) Strong understanding of fuel transportation business Clear understanding of the commercial driving regulations. Accountability: Safe onboarding of new Drivers and continuous training throughout their career. Collaboration with local management to ensure the Driver is qualified to operate the truck and perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner. Continuous and remedial training as required Collaborate with EHS to implement EHS initiates/programs/campaigns.
