About the Company: A global education provider is seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join its dynamic legal team. This remote role requires candidates to be commutable to Toronto for ad hoc in-office requirements.About the Role: This is a varied generalist position covering a broad range of commercial legal matters, including Commercial Contracts, IP & Media, Litigation, and Commercial Real Property (including Commercial Leasing). A high proportion of the work will focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements.Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial Law Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including service agreements, license agreements, partnership agreements with universities, commercial leases, and terms & conditions.Collaborate closely with sales operations, marketing, and procurement teams.Work alongside the central legal team to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.Lead negotiations with customers, suppliers, partner universities, and agents.Manage external counsel and corporate services providers.Experience with regulated industries, government procurement, or higher education is a plus but not required.Corporate Law Support M&A transactions and corporate structuring.Advise on corporate governance, partnerships, and joint ventures.Exposure to banking, real estate, and secured transactions is beneficial but not required.About You: The ideal candidate will have:At least three years of post-qualification experience in a nationally recognized law firm focusing on commercial contracts.Completed an M&A or banking seat during training.Strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills with a focus on delivery.The ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively prioritize tasks.A client-facing, entrepreneurial, and collaborative approach.A pragmatic, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset.
