Help Shape the Future of Occupational Therapy Education in CanadaNew York Institute of Technology (NYIT) is expanding its successful Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program to Vancouver to address the critical shortage of occupational therapists in British Columbia. We seek an innovative curriculum development consultant to transform our established American program into a distinctly Canadian educational experience that meets all provincial and national accreditation requirements.The Ideal Candidate: Canadian-trained occupational therapist educator with a Master's degree Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) Experience in curriculum development and academic leadership Passion for advancing occupational therapy education in CanadaKey Responsibilities:1. Lead the transformation of NYIT's curriculum into a uniquely Canadian program that reflects provincial and national standards while leveraging existing resources2. Craft a revised program vision, mission, and learning outcomes that embody Canadian occupational therapy concepts and professional values3. Align curriculum with the 2021 Competencies for Occupational Therapists in Canada4. Optimize program length and structure to better match Canadian educational models through strategic use of summer terms5. Design a fieldwork framework meeting the Association of Canadian Occupational Therapy University Programs (ACOTUP) Committee on University Fieldwork Education (CUFE) standards6. Analyze UBC's Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program to identify distinctive educational approaches and potential collaboration opportunities7. Ensure compliance with provincial (CHCPBC) licensure requirements8. Develop the capital plan for state-of-the-art MSOT laboratory facilities9. Engage with employers, Indigenous communities, professional organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure program relevance and demonstrate social impact10. Collaborate with NYIT leadership to secure Degree Quality Assessment Board (DQAB) approval and accreditation with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT)About NYIT: New York Institute of Technology is a dynamic, non-profit institution of higher education founded in 1955.
