In this role, you will handle all aspects of fine assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of the Cyclotrons mechanical systems. Precision and attention to detail ensure that components operate smoothly and efficiently according to specifications, schematics, and technical manuals. A strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are essential. International travel for system installations is required.As a relatively small team, we collaborate closely to complete tasks on time, so a quick learner who thrives in a team environment will be a valuable asset.What You'll Do:Take an active role in the hands-on inspection, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of Cyclotrons mechanical systems with a focus on high precision, including the Vacuum System, RF Resonators, Injection Line Ion Source, Beamline, Water cooling systems, and Control Electrical Cabinets.Interpret detailed engineering mechanical drawings to assemble mechanical parts and assemblies.Use measuring tools like micrometers, calipers, and laser alignment devices to maintain proper tolerance.Use hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments to modify, cut, or fabricate components when necessary. Alter or repair parts using welding, grinding, and cutting equipment.Basic knowledge of electronics and electrical circuitry is an assetAnalyze information and solve technical problems through precision and accuracyWork closely with engineers and other technical specialists to discuss specifications, resolve problems, and contribute to system upgrades.Interact with ERP systemsEnsure all tasks are completed in compliance with safety standards and regulations. Adhere to workplace safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.International travel to customer sites is required.Other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager.What You'll Bring:Preference for graduates from BCIT or those who have completed a millwright apprenticeship.Proven millwright experience, Red Seal preferred or willingness to challenge.Read and interpret technical drawings, and schematics to understand assembly requirements.Proficient in assembling, installing, and repairing delicate components with precision, utilizing a variety of hand and power tools.Experienced in using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and laser alignment systems, to obtain accurate measurements.Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose and fix mechanical issues.Familiar with pneumatic and electromechanical systems and their maintenance.Skills in welding and fabricating components are an asset.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information.Availability for overtime and international travel for system installations.Work Environment:A fast-paced environment with priorities that often change to meet current priorities.Travel to customer sites is required.
