THE ROLE Under the supervision of the Mess Manager, the Catering Supervisor assists with the day-to-day planning and organizing of food production and service for catered functions. They prepare, cook and serve food while ensuring quality productions and services are being provided. They ensure proper storage and rotation of food products in accordance with public health department regulations. The Catering Supervisor prepares catering estimates and final invoices. They operate kitchen equipment, follow sanitation and safety procedures and assist in cleaning the kitchen. They supervise staff, or work of volunteers, as required. If you thrive in a customer-focused environment and enjoy working in a team - this opportunity is for you QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses High school diploma and several years of experience in food and beverage service, or a related hospitality field Valid Drivers License (Ontario) Must be of legal age to serve alcohol (Ontario) Food Handling Certification, as required Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (Ontario) Experience In supervising hospitality services In organizing banquets and functions In safe food handling practices and procedures In applying policies, procedures and regulations In food preparation techniques, methods and procedures In calculating and controlling food costs In personnel administration Competencies Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
