Job Posting Facility Operator (CUPE) Full Time (1.0 FTE - 40 hrs/week) Hodgeville School Competition 3720 The Chinook School Division is proud to serve nearly 6,000 students in 60 schools, with over 1,000 collegial and student-centered teachers and support staff. The Facility Operator position reports to the Principal and is responsible for facilitating the learning environment of the facility by providing a safe and clean environment. The Facility Operator maintains the integrity of the building, has responsibility for the plant and its operations, performs general maintenance and is responsible for the cleanliness of the facility. At no time discusses publicly private information pertaining to any staff member or student, with the exception of professionals working with students to meet the student''s needs. Desired Qualifications and Skills: Fifth Class Engineering certificate or equivalent is an asset Certification according to code for the facility (Fireman''s Boiler Certificate, First Aid/CPR, WHMIS Training) Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning industry and current practices Demonstrated knowledge of building maintenance procedures, tools and equipment Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and mechanical equipment Previous experience in building maintenance including minor interior and exterior repairs/maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting and mechanical systems Previous experience performing daily cleaning, disinfecting, dusting, washing, polishing and scrubbing Strong background and knowledge of safe workplace practices Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to work as part of a team Ability to deal with a broad range of students, staff and members of the general public Good physical condition: ability to lift or exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally ability to lift or exert up to 50 lbs of force frequently ability to lift or exert up to 20 lbs of force constantly Benefits: Wage range: $22.16 to $25.09 per hour Defined benefit pension plan Employee benefit package Positive work environment Applications must be submitted prior to 11:30 p.m. on March 30, 2025 For more information about this position, please email .
