Mental Health Equity (mentalhealthequity.ca) a small passion project of a mental health survivor and advocate based in Toronto is hiring!Looking for several reliable protestors (up to 20) for mental health advocacy. Shifts will be 1 hour each with the possibility of several shifts over the summer months. Several weeks notice will be given if you are needed. Time and date of first shift is still unknown. Currently it is a pool of potential protestors being developed which you would be on and contacted when needed.Job location: Shifts will be on weekends either Saturday or Sunday beginning 30 min before start of Rogers Centre Blue Jays game to 30 min after start. The protests will be in front of the Toronto Regional Office of CSIS (Station A) at 277 Front St. for screening out those with mental health conditions during the psychological screening stage of hiring.Payment/Compensation: $25 per 1 hour shift. Total number of shifts during summer varies.Type of work/Job description: The protesting will involve you standing in a high visibility area at 277 Front St. West, silently, while holding a sign for people to read as they walk past. The sign will promote equality for those with mental health conditions.Qualifications: A strong interest in social justice and DEI advocacy. Past experience protesting not required. Availability weekends during the summer (several weeks notice will be given if you are needed). Dependability when providing agreement to protest.NOTE: An agreement of compliance with the law will be required to sign prior to the protest that states you will remain peaceful during the shift and comply with any requests from security officials.
