We are Making Sustainability Happen. As our new Greenhouse Gas Specialist, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal. Job Description Role You will take on the full scope of project management responsibilities, including proposal, design, and ongoing coordination, as well as mentorship and leadership responsibilities with our junior team members, report writing, and client communication. Youll also focus on business development initiatives, leveraging your centers of influence to help strategically grow our operations. Well look to you to bring in-depth knowledge of air quality concerns, with expertise in quantifying emissions, mitigation and reduction plans, fugitive emissions measurements, greenhouse gas and methane control studies, project management, and technical report writing. Knowledge of a wide range of business sectors and the ability to work on multi-disciplinary teams will also be key to your success. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities: Develop and implement plans to expand business opportunities in our Air Quality and ESG groups Assist clients in developing GHG reduction plans and strategies to meet net-zero goals Perform methane, fugitive emissions, and greenhouse gas emissions inventories and reduction analyses Focus on initiating, developing, building, and expanding successful client relationships Develop proposals and budgets with the financial acumen to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget Participate in a variety of projects through study design, analytical QA/QC, advisory services, specialized field surveys, and review of technical reports Prepare federal, provincial and/or municipal permits, licenses, and applications Provide technical and business mentorship to other staff members Participate nationally with the Air Quality team and other technical disciplines throughout our Canadian operations Working @ SLR With us, there is no doubt youll grow your subject-matter expertise and industry knowledge. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location. Full-time, permanent role with opportunities for professional growth and advancement Qualifications/Education/Memberships: A minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental consulting, with a special focus in GHG Ability to develop business opportunities and have an excellent approach to client service Knowledge and practical application of health & safety requirements Solid understanding of provincial and federal GHG reporting requirements, such as TIER and OBPS Minimum 5+ years of experience with methane, fugitive, and greenhouse gas emissions management Minimum 5+ years of experience with developing GHG mitigation and reduction plans to meet net-zero goals Completion of ISO 14064-3 training with 5+ years in GHG validation or verification is considered an asset Familiarity with energy models, such as EnergyPlus and eQuest, is considered an asset Ability to work with and/or manage multi-disciplinary teams across Canada Degree in environmental science, engineering, or related studies Professional status or eligibility for professional status with a professional organization in Alberta and British Columbia Business travel throughout Canada may be required throughout the week and/or on weekends SLR strives to build diverse teams that reflect the communities we work in, and encourages applications from traditionally underrepresented groups including women, visible minorities, Indigenous peoples, people identifying as 2SLGBTQI+, veterans, and people with disabilities. #J-18808-Ljbffr
