Job Title: Assistant Professor in Accounting Job Type: Limited Term Union: MRFA Salary Grade: N/A Position End Date: 8/14/2028 Location: Mount Royal University, Calgary, Alberta, Canada About the Faculty of Business, Communication Studies and Aviation The Faculty of Business, Communications Studies and Aviation has a student body of approximately 3,899 students and is composed of the Bissett School of Business, the School of Communication Studies, and the Aviation program with a Flight School. About the Role The Department of Accounting and Finance in the Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal University invites applications for a three-year term appointment in Accounting at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will commence on August 15, 2025, and includes teaching and service responsibilities. The successful candidate is expected to teach courses on accounting data analytics and accounting information systems and to support the development of an analytics curriculum in the Accounting program. Qualifications The following qualifications are required: A completed Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a Masters Degree in Accounting or a related business discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution A Chartered Professional Designation in Accounting such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Additionally, the successful candidate will have the following attributes: A minimum of two years of teaching experience Practical experience or background in business analytics Demonstrated proficiency in teaching Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills A willingness to mentor and coach students Preference will be given to candidates with experience or background in curriculum development, preferably in accounting data analytics and/or accounting information systems.
