The Opportunity This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and entrepreneurial commercial lending professional to substantially contribute to Peace Hills Trusts growth and success in Atlantic Canada. Reporting to the Vice President of Credit, the Director of Commercial Lending will develop productive relationships with new and existing commercial clients to build and grow a sound portfolio that meets PHTs policies and guidelines. The regional branch is located in Fredericton, but this could be a fully remote position based anywhere in Atlantic Canada. Responsibilities: Cultivate relationships to increase awareness, realize business opportunities, and expand Peace Hills Trusts commercial business in Atlantic Canada. Source, develop, and grow profitable opportunities for new and existing relationships with Indigenous and non-Indigenous customers. Identify, negotiate, underwrite, and present high-quality credit proposals, demonstrating expertise in risk assessment, financial analysis, and credit structuring/solutions. Work to achieve asset growth and profitability targets. Manage relationships and overall credit portfolio, including PCAMLTF legislative requirements, loan draw files, renewals and annual reviews, financial statement analysis, and market trends. Liaise with the Corporate Credit team to ensure continuity of customer service and the accuracy of credit and lending-related deals. Protect company assets by ensuring compliance with PHT requirements including security, control and reporting procedures. Analytical and detail-oriented, you are known for your high level of integrity and accountability, as well as your ability to build and grow a solid book of business. Qualifications and Requirements: A minimum of 5 years of commercial lending experience, including risk assessment, financial analysis, and credit structuring/solutions. Demonstrated success in business development and sales. Strong business and financial acumen. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Direct experience with First Nations is preferred. A relevant post-secondary degree or diploma would be an asset.
